Steven and Rachel {Wedding}

They were raised in the same church.
Side by side their whole lives.
They grew up together really.
They were friends.
They hug out with the same groups.
But one day all that changed.
He noticed the bounce in her step and the twinkle in her eye.
She noticed the way he carried himself with soft strength.

….before they knew it, they were falling in love….

…and so it only seemed fitting that they were married in the same church that they grew up in, surrounded by those that love them and had watched them grow into the beautiful people they now are.

Steven and Rachel,
Thank you for allowing me to shoot your wedding. It was beautiful. Here’s to years of happiness and lots of beautiful babies!

Melody White - LOVE LOVE LOVE!

If you could see the todo list I have for this week you would:

1. Laugh out loud. Seriously. It’s that ridicules. I’m thinking of alphabetizing it for easier crossing off.
2. Cry.
3. Be very proud of me for tackling it so hard. And treat me to a pedicure. Pats on the back are so 2009.
4. Tell me I ultimately deserve the biggest cookie I can find. Or yogurt. Or both for good measure.
5. Agree that yes, a pallet of rockstar might be in order.
6. Run for hiding under my desk. And find me there already.

All that to say, there is plenty of prettiness coming your way this week. I am so excited to share all I’ve shot this last month!

…and, just because I can, and since a blog post is never as much fun without a picture, here is a shot I took when at the pier last month.

I love it. It reminds me of salty air, hair in my face. A day off in the city with family. Laughter. And life. Remember to breath in deep and enjoy it. All of it.

Hugs.

Karina and Francisco {e session}

They’d seen each other in the hallways of the hospital before. After all, Karina is hard to miss with her big brown eyes and happy laugh. But on that day , for one reason or another it all changed.

Perhaps it was the fact it was a holiday and they both were having to work, or maybe it was how pretty she looked that morning, but as they stood in the elevator together Francisco mentioned his floor had a turkey dinner going on. And maybe she’d want to stop by.

Being a girl after my own heart, a few hours later Karina did in fact stop by. After all, who can resist a good homestyle dinner and a cute guy to share it with. And, being the gentleman he is, Francisco shared his dinner.

And the spark was lit.

We met for a drink before our shoot, {which was the first time I had done it} but, from now on it’s going to be a prerequisite for all AbiQ couples! It was awesome to get to know Karina and Francisco as a couple and joke around …

…needless to say, by the time we started shooting we were grand old friends and literally hung out and laughed as we shot. Karina has an amazing laugh and Francisco is always watching her with a smile on his face. They are such a happy fun couple and I can’t wait til their wedding in three weeks!

Goodbyes suck {most of the time}

Confession on the week:

I wear glasses.
And not just sometimes when my contacts are dry, or when it’s late at night and I’m cuddled beside the husband man watching a movie. For the last three years I’ve worn glasses every. single. day.
But tomorrow? Tomorrow I won’t. Or the next day. Or the next…
And when it’s the morning I won’t have to try and remember what I did with them last night. Or be lost when hubby goes to the office and I’m home alone wondering what the heck I did with them.
Today, in a few hours, I’m getting LASIK. {ek!}
And I’m excited.
And nervous.
But most of all excited.

I will be out of the office for the next day or two resting my eyes and hoping the flaps don’t come unflapped.

{{…and just in case your wondering, goggles in the shower are so hot right now. }}

Happy Tuesday! xxxoo
